The Cochise Music Teachers Association annual Inge Young Piano Competition was held Feb. 26 at Kino Hall. Seventeen piano students, ages 12-17 competed for cash prizes, each playing a memorized piece from the Romantic period. Judges for the competition were Jamee Haddorff and Jessica Carnevale of Tucson, both performing artists and piano teachers. The judges mentioned how pleased they were with the performances, and encouraged all the students to keep working hard. The yearly competition is open to any students of CMTA teachers who have studied with that teacher for at least six months and live in Cochise County.
